Light Fixture and Ceiling Fan Installation

30 minutes to 1 hour per fixture; 1-2 hours for ceiling fans
How the work goes
30 minutes to 1 hour per fixture; 1-2 hours for ceiling fans
  • Light fixture replacement
  • Ceiling fan installation with fan-rated box
  • TV mounting with cable management
  • Outlet and switch replacement
  • Dimmer switch installation
  • Balancing and testing

We install light fixtures and ceiling fans as long as there's already an electrical box and wiring in place. That's a direct swap — turn off the breaker, disconnect the old fixture, mount the new one, connect the wires, test it. Most fixtures take 30 minutes to an hour.

Ceiling fans are heavier and need a fan-rated electrical box. If the existing box isn't rated for a fan, we'll replace it with one that is. The fan itself takes an hour or two to assemble and mount, then we balance it if it wobbles.

If you want a light or fan where there isn't currently one — adding a fixture to a room that doesn't have overhead lighting, or putting a fan in a bedroom that only has a switched outlet — that requires running new wire and possibly adding a circuit. That's licensed electrical work in Florida. We'll coordinate with an electrician if you need that done, or you can hire one separately and we'll install the fixture once the wiring is in.

TV mounting is common. We find the studs, mount the bracket level, hang the TV, and run the cables. If you want the cables hidden in the wall, that's a different job — we cut access holes, run the cables through the wall cavity, and patch and paint the holes. It adds time and cost but looks cleaner.

We also replace outlets and switches, install dimmer switches, and swap out old electrical cover plates. Anything beyond that — adding circuits, replacing breaker panels, troubleshooting wiring issues — needs a licensed electrician.

Light fixture styles vary widely — chandeliers, pendant lights, flush-mount ceiling lights, sconces, track lighting. We'll install whatever you've bought as long as the electrical box and wiring are already there. If the fixture is particularly heavy or requires special mounting, we'll reinforce the box or add blocking in the ceiling.

Ceiling fan remotes and wall controls are part of most fan installs. If the fan has a remote, we'll program it and mount the receiver in the canopy. If you want a wall control instead of pull chains, we'll install that too as long as there's already switch wiring in place.
